Student Support Officer

LONDON SKILLS & DEVELOPMENT NETWORK – Croydon, Greater London

The focus for this post holder will be to contribute to the organisation’s outreach service to the local community, engage and recruit individuals that are eligible for specified programmes and provide them with information, advice and guidance and training opportunities.

The post holder will support every aspect of the learner journey, end to end, from learner recruitment, selection and enrolment, initial assessment and IAG to the achievement of positive outcomes, including, accreditation & certification, employment or work placement, and progression into further or higher education and apprenticeship vacancies.

The post holder will exercise good administration and coordination skills in order to support the delivery of high standards by the LSDN Team. The Student Services Officer will work with the team to maintain effective and efficient systems and processes that assist with programme implementation and monitoring in line with Matrix and ISO 9001 quality standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To maintain and foster relationships with JobCentre Plus, local recruitment agencies with a view to supporting their clients into work.
  • To coordinate the Learner admission process.
  • To coordinate the administration of LSDN programmes specifically individual learning plans for each learner.
  • To work closely with tutors, providing support and coordination to ensure learning programmes are delivered to a high-quality standard and in compliance with ESFA funding and audit processes.
  • Monitor learner behaviour, attendance and progress on programme, put in place approved appropriate interventions/support where needed.

Project Manager

LONDON SKILLS & DEVELOPMENT NETWORK – Croydon, Greater London

The focus for this post holder will be:

  • To manage the delivery and coordination of the DFE funded Flexible Learning Fund contract.
  • To assist in the successful delivery of ESFA contract services, as determined by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • To assist the Education Administration Manager with developing and maintaining appropriate administrative procedures and systems for ESFA funded programme.
  • To support effective and efficient systems and processes to assist with service implementation and monitoring.
  • The post holder will exercise strong administration and coordination skills in order to support the delivery of high standards by LSDN.

Key responsibilities:

    • Undertake planning activities to ensure effective delivery of all teaching, learning and assessment services.
    • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment which meets the needs of all LSDN learners and in line with Teacher and Trainer Professional Standards (ETF) (QTLS)
    • Perform the role of Personal Tutor for designated learners in line with LSDN’s Tutorial policy and guidance.

Skills required:

The post holder will need to have:

  1. Experience working in the sector and to awarding body standards
  2. Hold a formal qualification in both teaching in the related sector
  3. The ability; to organise, plan and prioritise on own initiative, including when under pressure to meet deadlines.

A high level of IT literacy, MS Office and written and oral communication skills.
